Shipping Your Motor Vehicle to the UK
Are you considering shipping your vehicle to the United Kingdom? Many people do and there are several reasons for doing so; you would lose too much money on resale, you’re attached to it, or it’s your baby. Regardless of the reasoning, we can help. Aside from the cost of shipping, there are also Customs regulations and road safety requirements that you should be aware of.
As long as you are moving your vehicle is a part of your normal home move to the EU, you have had your home outside the EU for at least 12 concurrent months, and have possessed and used your vehicle for at least six months prior to importing them, they will be duty and tax-free. Provided your vehicle arrives a maximum of six months before your arrival or no more than 12 months after your arrival to the UK, no duty or tax will need to be paid.
